The Opportunity


GTS are supporting a specialist vehicle manufacturer operating at the forefront of emergency response, passenger transport, and high-performance support vehicles.


Due to continued growth, they’re looking for Coachbuilders / Mechanical Fitters to join a skilled production team, working on the build and conversion of high-spec, specialist vehicles used in real-world critical environments.

⚙️ The Role

You’ll be responsible for the mechanical build, fit-out, and conversion of vehicles — turning base models into fully operational, bespoke units.

Key responsibilities:

  • Vehicle conversion and fit-out on specialist vehicles
  • Installation of flooring, seating, tracking systems, vents & trim
  • Interior and exterior modifications
  • Working from technical drawings and build specs
  • Collaborating within a skilled production team
  • Ensuring high standards of quality and safety


✅ What We’re Looking For

Backgrounds considered:

  • Coachbuilder / Vehicle Bodybuilder
  • Mechanical Fitter / Vehicle Fitter
  • Automotive Assembly / Conversion Technician


Experience with:

  • Materials: aluminium, steel, composites, fibreglass, plastics, plywood
  • Trim & finishes: vinyl, carpet, interior systems
  • Consumables: sealants, adhesives, fillers, paints, primers
  • Hand and power tools
  • Reading and following technical drawings


You’ll also be:

✔ A strong team player with good communication skills
