Operating at the intersection of biotech, sustainability and global food systems, the business works with large organisations to help them make measurable progress against their environmental goals. With proven solutions, strategic investment in place, and international momentum building, this is a rare opportunity to step into a senior commercial leadership role at a defining moment.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will play a central role in shaping long-term partnerships, influencing strategy, and positioning the business for global scale.
The opportunity
This is not a traditional sales role.
As Commercial Director, you will be the senior commercial lead for the business - setting direction, building credibility with major partners, and guiding complex, long-horizon opportunities from concept through to delivery.
You will work closely with customers, partners and internal teams to ensure commercial strategy aligns with real-world sustainability outcomes, while building the structure and momentum required for the next stage of growth.
Sales cycles are long and strategic, executed through focused internal sprint phases, with an emphasis on partnerships, influence and value creation rather than volume or short-term targets.
What you will be responsible for
Owning and evolving the global commercial strategy as the business scales Leading and developing the commercial function, setting direction and building momentum Acting as a trusted commercial advisor to enterprise customers and partners Building and managing senior-level relationships across customers, partners, investors and public-sector stakeholders Providing clarity and rigour across the commercial pipeline, forecasting and CRM discipline Working closely with technical and operational teams to shape commercially viable, tailored solutions Representing the business externally through senior industry engagement, partnerships and events
Who this role is likely to suit
You are a senior commercial leader who enjoys operating at the intersection of purpose and scale.
You may have held roles such as Commercial Director, Sales Director, Strategy Director or Global Partnerships Lead, and you are comfortable influencing outcomes through credibility rather than hierarchy.
You likely bring:
A strong track record of complex, long-cycle B2B or enterprise dealmaking Experience selling solutions that support sustainability, transformation or operational change Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers The ability to work effectively in an environment that is still forming, with the opportunity to shape it An international outlook, with experience operating beyond the UK or exposure to global markets
You do not need to be a technical specialist, but you are able to engage credibly with technical teams and understand complex concepts at a commercial level.
