Commercial Finance Manager
Location: Newtownabbey Area
Job Type: Full-time | Permanent | Office-based
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Reed Accountancy are delighted to be exclusively partnered with an established and expanding company based in the Newtownabbey area in the appointment of an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to join their management team!
This newly created and pivotal role involves managing financial, budgeting, and reporting activities, as well as playing a crucial role in commercial decision-making. The successful Commercial Finance Manager will enhance their client and customer relationships and support future business growth.
Day-to-day of the role:
Act as a strategic finance partner to operational, commercial, and customer-facing teams, providing insights that support day-to-day decision making and long-term planning.
Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts.
Deliver detailed financial analysis, including profitability reviews and performance reporting, to guide business improvements and identify growth opportunities.
Lead budgeting and forecasting activity, ensuring alignment with wider frameworks and internal departmental expectations.
Track financial performance against targets, highlighting variances and recommending actions to enhance efficiency and results.
Support major projects and business initiatives by overseeing financial modelling, investment analysis and risk assessment for both new and existing contracts.
Represent the finance function in key commercial and financial discussions with senior stakeholders and major clients.
Oversee finance-related business continuity planning, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and maintaining ownership of all associated processes.
Drive system and process enhancements across core finance areas, including master data integrity, transactional finance workflows, and client claim management.
Provide leadership and direction to the AP and AR teams, ensuring high standards of accuracy, service and compliance.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Part Qualified or QBE – CIMA, educated to A level standard or equivalent.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role within a finance function.
Significant experience in producing monthly management accounts.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
Proven experience in providing information for commercial decision-making.
Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional relationships effectively.
Excellent IT skills and knowledge of accounting software.
Third Level Qualification in a relevant business-related discipline.
Proven understanding of complex commercial relationships
