ROLE: Commercial Gas Engineer (Permanent) SALARY: £26 per hour door-to-door LOCATION: M25 coverage This role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM), servicing, repairs, and occasional installations of commercial gas systems across a diverse client base including government buildings, hotels, schools, courts, and office facilities. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, compliance, and customer satisfaction, while managing a range of commercial gas appliances. While the role primarily covers London and the South, national coverage may be required for sickness or holiday cover. This is a mobile role with a current on-call rota of 1 in 9 (national). BENEFITS: * £26 p/h door-to-door pay (flexibility for the right candidate) * Company van, tools, and equipment provided * Overtime opportunities (1.5x on a Saturday and 2x on a Sunday) * 23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays * Average holiday pay * Auto-enrolment pension (3% employer / 5% employee) * Private medical insurance (post 6-month probation) * Comprehensive H&S support * Career progression within a supportive and professional team THE CANDIDATE: * ACS Commercial Gas Certifications (e.g. CODNCO1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, ICPN1, TPCP1A, BMP1). * Minimum 5 years of experience working with commercial gas systems. * Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills; BMS/controls knowledge is advantageous. * Valid full UK driving licence. * Excellent understanding of health & safety regulations. * Professional communication skills (verbal and written). * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Organised and able to manage workload across multiple sites. DUTIES INCLUDE: * Conduct planned PPM, servicing, and repairs on commercial gas appliances in accordance with current regulations (SFG20). * Perform fault-finding and diagnostics across a variety of commercial gas systems. * Undertake occasional installation work, ensuring compliance with industry standards. * Provide first-response support during working hours and on-call periods for emergency repairs. * Maintain detailed service records and ensure documentation is compliant and audit ready. * Follow strict health and safety procedures, including appropriate use of PPE. * Work collaboratively with the wider team and escalate complex issues where necessary. * Advise clients on best practices for appliance use and safety.
