Company Secretary Assistant

London based

Hybrid working (4 days in office)


SSQ is partnering with a specialist governance advisory firm to recruit an Executive or Senior Executive (depending on experience) to join its growing company secretarial team in Central London.

This is a great opportunity for a part-qualified governance professional looking to build on their existing company secretarial experience and gain exposure to a range of industries and listed environments.


Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing board meeting agendas and compiling digital board packs
  • Attending board meetings and producing high-quality draft minutes
  • Drafting AGM notices and supporting documentation
  • Reviewing annual report disclosures against applicable corporate governance codes
  • Maintaining digital statutory books and company records
  • Filing statutory and regulatory notifications with relevant authorities
  • Maintaining Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) insider lists and related records
  • Supporting corporate transactions, including IPOs and other key corporate events
  • Conducting technical research into client queries relating to legal, regulatory and governance matters


Candidate Requirements

  • At least 18 months’ experience in a company secretarial or governance role
  • Currently studying towards the CGI qualification (or recently started)
  • Minimum 2:1 degree in law, finance, history, English or a related subject
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly advanced formatting in Word
  • Working knowledge of the Companies Act 2006
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A collaborative, team-focused attitude
