The Role - Complex Care Assistant Responsibilities As a Complex Care Assistant with Superior Healthcare, you'll provide specialist one-to-one care supporting clients with complex health needs in their own homes across the Crawley and West Sussex area . Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Clinical Care: Seizure management - monitoring, recording, emergency response (epilepsy care training provided)
PEG feeding (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) - tube feeding administration and monitoring
Medication administration - oral, topical, PRN, controlled drugs (training and competency assessment provided)
Moving and handling - safe use of hoists, slings, profiling beds, wheelchairs
Personal care - bathing, dressing, continence care, skin integrity monitoring
Daily Living Support: Support with communication needs
Daily living activities - meal preparation, eating and drinking support
Social engagement - community activities, hobbies, educational support
Emotional wellbeing - companionship, reassurance, emotional support
Behaviour support - positive behaviour strategies for clients with challenging behaviours
Professional Responsibilities: Follow individualized care plans - as directed by Nurse Manager and multidisciplinary team
Accurate record keeping - MAR charts, care notes, handover reports
Safeguarding - recognize and report safeguarding concerns appropriately
Communication - clear, confident communication with clients, families, healthcare professionals
Health and safety compliance - infection control, risk assessments, safe working practices
Shift Patterns Available: Day Shifts: 8:00am - 8:00pm (12-hour shifts)
Support clients with daily routines, activities, clinical needs, meals, personal care
Waking Night Shifts: 8:00pm - 8:00am (12-hour waking nights)
Monitor client overnight, administer night medications, respond to care needs
Higher night shift rates available
Flexibility: Full-time (3-5 shifts per week) or Part-time (minimum 2 shifts per week)
Flexible patterns to suit your availability - discuss during interview
Additional ad-hoc shifts available across Crawley and surrounding areas for flexible candidates
