Temporary Compliance Manager (3-Month Contract)Barrhead, East Renfrewshire (Hybrid - 3 days in office)£43,000-£45,000 (pro rata)We are seeking an experienced Compliance professional to join us on a temporary 3-month contract to lead and review our public sector client's Compliance Team. This role will combine hands-on team management with a full review of processes, controls, and procedures to drive improvements and strengthen compliance assurance.Key Responsibilities: Manage and support a small Compliance team (3-4 staff), overseeing day-to-day operationsReview end-to-end departmental processes and recommend improvementsEnsure all procedures are clearly documented and up to dateIdentify compliance risks and implement corrective action plansProvide guidance and assurance around controls and proceduresOversee audit actions and reconciliations, delivering monthly RAG status updatesDevelop and manage compliance checking frameworks and sampling regimesProduce management reports on compliance performance, accuracy, and error ratesSign off Council Tax Direct Debit submissionsConduct targeted sample checks in key risk areasImplement and maintain a Compliance PlannerDevelop and deliver training and refresher programmesDeputise for the Financial Operations Manager as required About You: Proven experience in a Compliance role, ideally within public sector or similar environmentsStrong knowledge of areas such as Accounts Payable, Housing Benefit, Council Tax, or Scottish Welfare FundExperience managing teams and improving operational processesAbility to identify risks and implement effective solutionsStrong analytical, reporting, and communication skills This is an excellent opportunity to make a tangible impact within a short-term assignment, helping to strengthen compliance frameworks and support service delivery.Apply now to be considered or call 07779 858 438 Brightwork Ltd offers the services of an employment agency for permanent work and an employment business for temporary work.JBRP1_UKTJ
