Compliance Manager – Insurance / Investment Management



My client is an insurance group that acquires and manages life and savings portfolios.


This role is for an Associate looking to step up into management within Compliance.


Supporting the Group Head of Compliance you will drive a strong compliance culture, enhance strategy, and streamline processes.


You will help embed the Group Compliance Framework across business units, ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and internal policies, with direct reporting to senior leadership and occasional travel.



The Role



  • Lead compliance integration across markets, managing due diligence, implementation, and monitoring while handling confidential information and stakeholder relationships.
  • Chair and drive Compliance and Privacy Working Groups, defining agendas, monitoring progress, and promoting a strong compliance culture across the Group.
  • Manage regulatory monitoring and analysis, update function owners, provide training, and enhance tools and processes to support compliance.
  • Support business units in applying compliance methodologies, assessing regulatory obligations, and evaluating compliance maturity.
  • Define strategies, processes, and methodologies for regulatory compliance at international, European, and local levels, including training relevant teams.
  • Assist the General Counsel and Group Head of Compliance in managing governance committees, documentation, agendas, and sensitive matters.
  • Lead technological upgrades and process improvements, managing internal and external stakeholders, business cases, and tool adoption.
  • Oversee financial crime due diligence, third-party relationships, and ensure compliance risk management through effective frameworks and reporting.
  • Support preparation of regulatory engagements, compliance functional boards, annual plans, risk assessments, and reporting to senior leadership.
  • Act as deputy to the Group Head of Compliance, providing guidance, advice, and oversight on Group-wide compliance policies, tools, and projects.



The Candidate


  • Minimum of 8 years’ Experience in Compliance within UK and European Investment Management or Insurance, with practical knowledge of compliance programs, emerging risks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Positive, adaptable, and proactive with a “can-do” attitude, willing to challenge the status quo and learn new topics.
  • Strong judgment, able to work independently on complex issues and know when to escalate.
  • Excellent communication, report writing, and relationship-building skills across multi-country environments.
  • Skilled in project management, analysis, and presenting information effectively to different audiences.
  • Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and working towards, or holding, relevant professional compliance qualifications.
  • Structured, service-oriented, and collaborative, able to prioritise tasks and support business units effectively.



My client are looking for a senior associate or junior manager who is ready to step up into a managerial role which will develop and grow, along with the candidate.



This role is a hybrid role which in most weeks will be 3 days in the office and 2 working from home.
