We are currently recruiting an experienced Composites Laminator Consultant to support high‑profile automotive and supercar programmes. This contract role offers the opportunity to work on cutting‑edge composite components within a fast‑paced, precision‑driven manufacturing environment.
The Role
As a Composites Laminator, you will be responsible for the lay‑up, manufacture, and preparation of advanced composite components, working to exacting quality and performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Composite Lay‑Up & Manufacturing
Perform pre‑preg carbon fibre lay‑up in line with engineering drawings, ply books, and work instructions Manufacture complex composite components, including: Class A surface panels Structural and load‑bearing parts Ensure correct ply orientation, stacking sequence, and material control Work with a range of materials including carbon fibre, glass fibre, and core materials (honeycomb, foam, etc.)
Tooling & Preparation
Prepare moulds and tooling to required standards, including: Cleaning and inspection Application of release agents Bagging preparation Apply full vacuum bagging techniques, including: Peel ply Breather / bleeder layers Vacuum films and sealing Ensure tooling integrity and readiness for autoclave processing
Curing & Processing
Support autoclave and oven curing operations Monitor curing cycles and ensure compliance with process parameters Handle components post‑cure, including de‑bagging and initial visual inspection
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience as a Composite Laminator within automotive, motorsport, aerospace, or high‑end manufacturing Strong experience with pre‑preg carbon fibre lay‑up Confidence reading engineering drawings, ply books, and work instructions Hands‑on experience with vacuum bagging and autoclave processes High attention to detail and a strong quality mindset Ability to work independently in a consultative / contract environment
