Expleo is seeking a talented Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) Engineer to support a major automotive OEM on a contract basis. This role sits within the Thermal CFD team , providing specialist expertise in full-vehicle thermal simulation and fluid-dynamic modelling.
About the Role
As a CFD Engineer, you will apply advanced computational modelling techniques to analyse and optimise the vehicle's thermal environment. You'll play a key role in ensuring thermal robustness of components and systems through high-quality simulations, model management and close collaboration with engineering teams.
This position is ideal for an engineer with strong CFD skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently on complex simulation tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Support Lead Engineers in the delivery of thermal CFD projects, working independently on assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
Manage and maintain CFD simulation models, ensuring completeness, accuracy and high-quality technical output.
Conduct full-vehicle thermal analyses to evaluate component and system robustness against thermal loads.
Communicate technical issues clearly, collaborate on solutions, and support effective resolution activities.
Ensure simulation data is robust, traceable and aligned with project requirements.
Essential skills required:
An excellent understanding of thermal CFD analysis and thermal processes ideally using StarCCM+.
Excellent report writing and communication skills.
The ability to lead technical issue resolution with the support of the test team, CAE teams, Technical Specialists and any external parties.
Desirable skills required:
Climatic Wind Tunnels and Hot Environment Testing
Whole vehicle thermal validation.
Education:-
Degree level in a technical subject.
