The School for Vocational and Technical Studies at South Thames College is seeking a Construction Technician to provide support to the Construction department including Electrical Installation, Plumbing Studies and Multi-skills.
Youll carry out the maintenance of the workshops and equipment for Construction and maintain stock levels and inventory, both equipment and materials. Youll assist in stock control, manage deliveries of Construction equipment and consumables and assist the academic staff and other technician staff to provide technician support in the stores and in the workshops.
Wed like you to hold a vocational or trade qualification at Level 2 or above in Electrical Installation, Plumbing, Multi-skills or a related construction discipline. Youll have experience of providing technical support within a Construction or FE learning environment and sound working knowledge of construction processes, tools and workshop environments.
Youll have a strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices, able to set up, maintain and monitor administrative and technical support systems. Youll be proactive in approach with the ability to use initiative, follow instructions and contribute to continuous improvement, skilled in prioritising workloads, meeting deadlines and working under pressure.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
