We've been assigned by one of the best performing NHS Trusts in the UK to help them recruit a Consultant in Stroke Medicine on either a Substantive or a 12-month NHS Fixed Term basis.The successful appointee will join a team of 10 NHS and academic consultants providing Stroke services, including a dedicated multi-disciplinary team delivering outstanding Stroke care and internationally recognized research within the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre. The stroke service comprises:A 16-bed hyperacute stroke unitA 28-bed acute rehabilitation stroke unitAn 18-bed long-term rehabilitation stroke unitA daily Fast Track TIA clinic operating 7 days a weekStroke outpatient clinics24/7 thrombolysis service supported by telemedicineA regional Mechanical Thrombectomy serviceThe appointee will contribute to the development of the stroke pathway, covering hyperacute, acute, intensive rehab, and continuing stroke rehabilitation, and will undertake duties including:Reciprocal cover during leavePatient care responsibilitiesProviding comprehensive elective and emergency stroke services alongside Consultant colleaguesEngagement in clinical governance and audit activitiesParticipation in undergraduate and postgraduate teachingCover for the Hyper Acute Stroke Unit, Weekend and weekday on-call, Acute Stroke Ward, TIA clinic, and OutpatientsAdditional information includes:Excellent leadership within the team10 Programmed Activities (PAs) per week, negotiable for additional PAsDedicated Diabetes CentreOutstanding nearby schoolsGMC Registration requiredExcellent location close to London and ManchesterFull-time or Part-time applications acceptedBenefits include:Competitive remuneration packagesGenerous relocation packageIf interested or to refer someone suitable, please contact us promptly.
