\nContentious Probate Solicitor — Position Overview:
\n
\n
\nYou will manage a varied caseload of medium to high-value disputes in wills, estates, inheritance, and trusts. You’ll work alongside renowned experts in the field with strong opportunity for career progression.
\n
\nKey Responsibilities of the Contentious Probate Solicitor:
\n 

\n\t
• Handle contentious probate disputes for claimants and defendants, including challenges to validity of wills
\n\t
• Advise on Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
\n\t
• Manage disputes concerning executors, trustees, and beneficiaries
\n\t
• Draft pleadings, witness statements and settlement correspondence
\n\t
• Engage in ADR and attend mediations, hearings, and client conferences
\n\t
• Maintain compliance and accurate case records
\n\t
• Collaborate with private client and wider litigation teams
\n\t
• Stay current with probate legislation and share expertise within the team
\n

\nRequirements of the Contentious Probate Solicitor:

\n\t
• Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
\n\t
• 2–5 years PQE in contentious probate litigation
\n\t
• Strong advocacy, drafting and negotiation skills
\n\t
• Ability to manage complex and sensitive matters independently
\n\t
• Excellent interpersonal and client-care skills
\n\t
• Highly organised and able to work to deadlines
\n

\nDesirable:

• ACTAPS membership or willingness to obtain
\n\t
• Mediation/ADR experience
\n\t
• Ability to support business development initiatives
\n\t
• Exposure to high-value / cross-jurisdictional estates
