Contracts Manager\n\nCivils, Groundworks and Regeneration projects\n\nLocation: Manchester\n\nSector: Civil Engineering / Groundworks /Regeneration\n\n£65,000 - £75,000 + Package\n\nWe are working in partnership with a well-established civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of urban civil engineering and groundworks projects.\n\nThis is a senior operational role, offering the opportunity to play a key part in business growth while leading teams across multiple live projects.\n\nThe Opportunity\n\nReporting into the Operations Director, you will take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of all civil and groundwork engineering works. You will oversee Contracts Managers, ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget, and act as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nGeneral Management\n\nSupport the Operations Director in delivering the business plan\n\nOversee construction delivery across multiple projects\n\nEnsure compliance with company policies and procedures\n\nProduce management reports and lead contract reviews\n\nRepresent the business with clients, partners and external stakeholders\n\nHealth & Safety\n\nPromote and maintain a strong safety-first culture\n\nEnsure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation and standards\n\nCarry out audits and reviews, driving continuous improvement\n\nProject Delivery\n\nLead construction teams to achieve high levels of client satisfaction\n\nMonitor progress, budgets and quality standards\n\nManage procurement and subcontractor performance\n\nResolve defects and delivery issues efficiently\n\nOptimise the use of labour, plant and materials\n\nPlanning & Pre- Construction\n\nConvert tenders into robust construction programmes\n\nMonitor and manage project timelines\n\nSupport tender processes, including risk, buildability and resource assessments\n\nCoordinate with consultants, designers and suppliers\n\nPeople Management\n\nBuild, lead and develop high-performing project teams\n\nManage staffing levels, performance and welfare\n\nSupport recruitment and long-term staff development\n\nAbout You\n\nProven experience in a senior construction management role within civil engineering\n\nBackground delivering large-scale highways, public realm, utilities or regeneration projects\n\nNVQ Level 7 or Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or similar\n\nStrong leadership and people management capability\n\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills\n\nStrategic thinker with the ability to forward plan and manage risk\n\nTrack record of delivering complex projects safely, on time and within budget\n\nWhat’s On Offer\n\nSenior leadership role within a growing and respected contractor\n\nOpportunity to shape delivery standards and develop teams\n\nCompetitive salary and benefits package\n\nLong-term career progression and stability
