Job Title: Control Systems Engineer\n\nLocation: Birmingham \n Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)\n Type: Permanent\n\nSRG are currently recruiting for a Control Systems Engineer to join a successful and growing client based near Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to contribute to critical projects and maintenance activities in a fast-paced industrial environment.\n\nResponsibilities (including but not limited to): \n\nDiagnose and resolve control system issues to ensure smooth operations\nDesign, specify, and install control and safety systems (including PLCs, BPCS, SIS, DCS, SCADA, HMI)\nManage changes by reviewing proposals and implementing system modifications.\nCollaborate with internal teams and external partners such as suppliers, integrators, and contractors\nPromote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with all legal and company standards\nSupport training and development within the department. \n\nCriteria: \n\nMinimum HNC in Controls/Electronic/Instrument Engineering\nStrong experience with Allen Bradley systems (RSLogix 500, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View)\nKnowledge of relevant standards (BS/IEC 61003, 61131, 61508, 61511, 62443)\nUnderstanding of functional safety, SIL, LOPA, and Safety Instrumented Systems\nExperience with communication protocols (Ethernet, DH+, Modbus, ProfiNet)\nAwareness of OT Cyber Security, IIoT, and AI is a plus.\nPrevious exposure to chemical manufacturing, hazardous areas (ATEX), and instrumentation engineering \nProficiency with AutoCAD or similar tools.
