Purpose of the role
As a Corporate Tax Partner, you will lead our London‑based Corporate Tax team, providing strategic direction, technical expertise, and exceptional client service. You will be responsible for managing complex tax compliance and advisory projects, developing new business, and mentoring senior staff. You will work closely with other partners and stakeholders to drive growth and innovation in our tax practice.
Skills / Qualifications
Provide strategic leadership to the Corporate Tax team, setting clear direction and upholding the highest standards of technical excellence.
Oversee the delivery of complex corporate tax compliance and advisory services across a diverse and sophisticated client portfolio.
Advise on intricate tax matters, including corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, and international tax considerations.
Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted and valued advisor.
Lead business development initiatives by identifying growth opportunities, cultivating client relationships, and converting prospects into long‑term engagements.
Collaborate closely with Partners and cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated and holistic client solutions.
Represent the firm at industry events, professional networks, and thought leadership forums to enhance market presence.
Mentor and develop senior tax professionals, fostering a high‑performing and collaborative team culture.
Monitor legislative developments and HMRC updates, ensuring the team remains at the forefront of technical knowledge.
Contribute to the firm’s overall growth and profitability through proactive client engagement and informed market insight.
Person Specification
Demonstrable track record of advising on complex corporate tax matters, including international tax, transfer pricing, and M&A structuring.
Experience leveraging tax technology platforms and data analytics tools to enhance the efficiency and quality of client service delivery.
Proven ability to build and sustain long‑term client relationships across a diverse range of industries.
Strong commercial acumen, with a consistent ability to identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities.
Extensive experience leading client pitches and proposal processes, particularly for large corporates and multinational organisations.
Track record of mentoring and developing junior team members, fostering a high‑performance and collaborative culture.
Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and work effectively with colleagues across service lines, including Audit and Advisory.
Membership of relevant professional bodies (e.g. ICAEW, CIOT), demonstrating commitment to professional standards.
Proven capability to navigate cultural differences and operate effectively within global teams and across international client bases.
