A national leading consultancy in Bristol has an opening for a Cost Manager to join their growing team.
Working on a range of industry-leading schemes, they operate within sectors including education, healthcare, leisure, retail, and residential. The majority of their workload involves refurbishment, with a strong presence in the retail sector.

The Role - Cost Manager
You will join a collaborative team working in a modern, open-plan office. Your focus will be on projects for a large retail client, mainly involving refurbishment and fit-out works. The role is primarily office-based, with client visits approximately once a week.
Job Objectives
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with clients, acting as an extension of their team
- Manage subcontractor tendering and review costs
- Provide accurate project cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting to completion within budget
- Proactively monitor and manage cost variances and contract cash flow, ensuring timely and correct applications
- Collaborate with client and contractor teams to deliver project KPIs, including programme performance, cost control, and value engineering
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
The Right Person - Cost Manager
- Experienced Cost Manager or Quantity Surveyor, preferably from a consultancy or main contractor background
- Refurbishment experience (walls, ceilings, floors, M&E)
- Retail experience is preferred but not essential
- Ability to work efficiently on fast-paced, turnaround projects
