Academics have recently partnered with schools in Wakefield, and due to an increase in demand we are currently on the lookout for Cover Supervisors in the area!

Cover supervisors play a vital role within schools and are required to carry out pre-planned lessons for teacher absences. The role of a cover supervisor is a great step for those who are aspiring to be teachers as well as recent graduates looking to gain classroom experience.

Your main responsibilities as a cover supervisor will involve the following:

  • Creating a positive learning environment for students and helping them develop with their academic studies
  • Supervising student's behaviour and referring to the school's behaviour management policy if required
  • Displaying subject knowledge to students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4
  • Following the schools safeguarding policies, ensuring a safe environment for the students

Qualities and attributes we are looking for as a cover supervisor:

  • Flexibility to cover multiple subjects and to correspond with any last-minute requirements
  • Excellent communication skills with a passion for making an impact on student's lives
  • Previous experience preferred, but not essential
  • A university degree
  • An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willing to apply to one
