About The Role
Location: Hereford - Office Based | Contract: Part-time (5 days a week - Monday to Friday)
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Credit Controller to join our Finance team. This role is critical in ensuring incoming cash flow is maximised and bad debt risk is minimised through effective collection of due and overdue debts. You will play a key part in maintaining strong client relationships while delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Maximise incoming cash flow and minimise bad debt risk through timely collection of outstanding debts.
Continually strive to reduce debtor days and improve cash flow performance.
Actively encourage clients to pay via Direct Debit and manage twice-monthly collections.
Prepare and distribute accurate monthly statements in a timely manner.
Handle client and internal queries professionally and efficiently, maintaining accurate records.
Provide regular updates on customer account status and escalate significant issues promptly.
Meet reporting requirements and highlight debt risks as appropriate.
Contribute to continuous improvement of processes and procedures within the finance team.

About The Candidate

Substantial experience in a similar credit control or finance role.
Evidence of working to tight deadlines in challenging environments.
Strong accuracy and attention to detail with an organised, methodical approach.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage with financial and non-financial stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing positively to team culture.
Positive and proactive approach to change, with a focus on improving processes and procedures.
Computer literate, with strong skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Maintains confidentiality and keeps up to date with statutory guidelines.Why Join Us?
