Job Title: Principal Process EngineerContract: 12-month contract (Inside IR35)Location: Warrington (site-based / hybrid subject to project needs)Security Clearance: UK Security Check (SC) - must be held or eligiblePositions Available: 3Role OverviewWe are seeking three highly experienced Principal Process Engineers to support a critical programme within the UK nuclear sector. These roles have been raised as a specific project requirement and will play a key part in the technical delivery, assurance, and development of process engineering solutions associated with RepU management and reuse.The programme relates to the UK's historic and potential future use of reprocessed uranium, including its storage, conversion, re-enrichment, and potential reuse in fresh fuel cycles.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide principal-level process engineering leadership to the projectDevelop, review, and approve process flowsheets, mass and energy balances, and technical documentationSupport process design, optimisation, and safety case development for nuclear fuel cycle facilitiesInterface with safety, operations, commissioning, and regulatory teamsEnsure compliance with UK nuclear regulations, safety standards, and best practiceAct as a technical authority, mentoring junior engineers where requiredSupport technical decision-making and risk reduction across the project lifecycleEssential Experience & SkillsChartered or chartership-track Process / Chemical Engineer (IChemE or equivalent)Extensive experience in nuclear process engineering, ideally within fuel cycle, reprocessing, or waste programmesStrong understanding of nuclear safety principles and regulated environmentsExperience producing and reviewing technical substantiation and safety documentationAbility to work effectively in multi-disciplinary project teamsSC clearance held or clear eligibility to obtainDesirableDirect experience with RepU, reprocessing, enrichment, conversion, or spent fuel programmesExperience working on UK nuclear licensed sites (e.g. Sellafield or similar)Knowledge of once-through and closed fuel cycle strategiesIf you've got strong nuclear process engineering experience and active SC clearance, this is a chance to work on a technically complex, nationally significant project.Please click here to find out more about our Key Information Documents.
