Your new employer is one of the UKs largest facilities management providers, looking to hire an ICT Shift Technician to join their growing data centre team in Croydon.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ICT professional with some experience to take on a more responsible role within a live, critical data centre environment. You will carry out independent ICT tasks, manage day-to-day systems, and assist with supervising and guiding Improver-level colleagues.
What you'll be doing: Monitoring and maintaining ICT systems, including DCIM, SCADA, BMS, VESDA, and alarm monitoring Carrying out racking/stacking, patching, break-fix, decommissioning, and infrastructure installations Troubleshooting ICT faults and resolving issues within your remit Managing ServiceNow tickets, emails, and job queues to ensure completion within SLA timescales Maintaining accurate documentation and completing detailed shift handovers Supporting stock management and ensuring work areas are clean and organised Assisting with training, guidance, and supervision of Improver-level technicians Escalating complex technical issues to Senior ICT Shift Technicians or management Ensuring compliance with health & safety, permit-to-work procedures, and client standards

The Person: ICT professional with some experience in data centre or ICT environments Competent in network infrastructure, structured cabling, and ICT systems monitoring Able to work independently while supporting junior colleagues Strong communication skills and a team player Comfortable working shift patterns in a 24/7 critical environment Ex-forces candidates with relevant ICT or technical experience are encouraged to apply
