Salary: £45,917 per annum
Job Purpose
* To drive trains in a safe, professional, reliable and efficient manner within the Banbury Maintenance Depot.
* To comply with all appropriate rules, regulations, procedures and standards appertaining to the job role.
* To service, clean and maintain the trains to an acceptable standard of fitness for public service.
* The primary location of the job will be Banbury Maintenance Depot but the job holder will be required to report to other Chiltern Railways premises for training.
Personal Specification:
Essential
* Minimum of 21 years of age (other than to undergo training)
* Good attention to detail
* Flexible, motivated, and comfortable working in a changing environment
* Able to work well both independently and as part of a team
* Strong focus on safety and following procedures at all times
* Calm, focused, and able to respond well in pressurised or unexpected situations
* Clear and confident communicator, both verbally and in writing
* Good coordination, awareness, and ability to learn new skills
* Reliable, professional, and able to work early, late, or unsocial hours
* Able to meet the medical requirements for a safety-critical role, including drug and alcohol testing
Desirable
* Experience of working within a rail passenger transport environment.
* Experience of working within a sales/customer facing environment.
* Excellent Customer Care Skills
* Looks at ways of continuous improvement
* Understands/knows how to locate and apply safe working practices
