Deputy Manager

Salary: £30,000 £35,000 per year (Depending on experience)
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Important: Candidates must have the right to work in the UK and a full clean driving licence
About the Role:
We are recruiting for an experienced Deputy Manager to support the running of a childrens residential home. You will work closely with the Home Manager to provide high-quality care, safeguarding, and support to young people, while assisting and mentoring the care team.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the Home Manager in day-to-day running of the home, including rota planning, shift leading, and professional audits.
Build positive, supportive relationships with young people and act as a role model.
Ensure care plans and risk assessments are followed and updated appropriately.
Supervise, mentor, and develop staff, providing guidance and support.
Attend professional meetings and liaise with external professionals as required.
Deputise for the Home Manager when necessary, including out-of-hours on-call duties.
Contribute to safeguarding and maintaining high standards of care and equality.
Essential Requirements:
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
Full clean driving licence
Experience working in residential care and managing a team
Knowledge of childcare legislation and OFSTED standards
Ability to communicate effectively with young people and staff
Emotional resilience in working with challenging behaviours
Understanding of safeguarding and child welfare principles
Desirable:
Experience in juvenile justice settings
Understanding of managing challenging behaviour
