Our flagship home is based in Walsall, West Midlands providing therapeutic, emotional and behavioural needs and complex trauma support services. We are currently seeking dedicated, enthusiastic support workers to join our children’s home in Shelfield. We are aiming to build a team that is the best in the industry. As our Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day management and operation of the home, working closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. Key Responsibilities: * To discriminate effectively between those decisions which can be deferred and those which need immediate attention. * To make decisions in accordance with Group, Line Manager and Ofsted’s expectations for the home * To become fully conversant with the Groups philosophy and policies * To respect and maintain the confidential nature of the work * Providing strong leadership and support to the care team. * Assisting with the development and implementation of individual children’s files, ensuring good quality records are maintained. * Supervising and mentoring staff, promoting their professional development * Ensuring the home adheres to all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures * Contributing to the effective management of the home’s resources * Deputising for the Registered Manager in their absence * Liaising with Senior Residential Support Worker in the effective running of the home. * Creating a positive and supportive environment for young people and staff. * Forming relationships with young people, their families and external agencies. * Attend professional meetings on and offsite as required * Actively participate in Quality Audits Process * To promote high levels of professionalism expected by Diamond Residential Care and Ofsted. * To contribute to the educational and social development of each young person * To meet the emotional and physical needs of our young people and maximise opportunities for their development. Skills Knowledge and Expertise * Level 3/4 Diploma in Children and Young People. * Experience in a children’s home setting - minimum of 1 year (highly desirable) * Flexibility to work 24 to 48 hour shift patterns (including sleep-in) - rota given in advance * Valid Full, UK driving licence (essential) * A desire and passion to make a difference help nurture and shape the futures of young people. All candidates must be over the age of 21 to meet industry regulations.
