Education People has recently partnered with a fast-growing nursery in Bristol to support the recruitment of an experienced and passionate Deputy Nursery Manager / SENCO.
This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring leader who is passionate about high-quality childcare, supporting children with additional needs, and helping to build a positive and collaborative team culture within a growing nursery setting.
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key leadership role within the nursery, supporting the day-to-day management of the setting while working closely with the leadership team.
You will bring strong knowledge of SEN processes and procedures, alongside excellent organisational and documentation skills. This position would suit someone with Deputy Manager or Room Leader experience who is confident leading a team and supporting staff development.
Key Responsibilities
Support the day-to-day leadership and management of the nursery
Act as the SENCO, ensuring appropriate processes, documentation, and support for children with additional needs
Provide managerial support and cover for the Safeguarding Lead when required
Lead and support staff to maintain high standards of care and early years education
Build strong relationships with parents and families, including greeting and meeting parents daily
Promote positive communication and collaboration across the staff team
Requirements
Level 3 qualification in Early Years (essential)
Experience working in an Early Years setting with leadership responsibilities
Strong knowledge of SEN procedures and documentation
Confident leadership skills with the ability to support, motivate, and develop a team
A proactive and positive approach with a genuine passion for high-quality childcare
Recruitment Process
The recruitment process consists of two stages:
Formal Interview
A structured interview exploring your experience, leadership style, and approach to early years practice. Observation Session
You will spend a couple of hours within the nursery so the team can observe how you interact with children, staff, and the learning environment.
