Be Part of Something That Gets Made.Are you a Design Engineer who enjoys seeing your work come to life?Shields (Driffield) Ltd, are looking for a talented and proactiveDesign Engineerto join their growing teamworking on real-world projects from concept through to manufacture and installation.This is a hands-on role where your designs wont just sit on a screenyoull play a key part in delivering practical engineering solutions across a variety of projects.What Youll Be DoingYoull be at the heart of the design process, collaborating across teams and supporting projects end-to-end:CAD & DesignProducing accurate 2D and 3D CAD models and detailed drawings (SolidWorks)Creating assemblies, DXF files, and flat patterns for manufacturing and CNC processesInterpreting technical specifications from clients, suppliers, and internal teamsProject & Technical SupportSupporting Project Managers and Engineers with design inputAssisting with design reviews, quality checks, and technical documentationContributing to risk identification and compliance with CDM 2015 regulationsCollaboration & Site WorkWorking closely with customers, suppliers, and internal teamsSupporting site surveys across the UK when requiredHelping ensure projects are delivered on time and to specificationTo Be SuccessfulYou will be technically strong, detail-focused, and enjoys solving real engineering challenges:Level 3+ qualification in Engineering (or equivalent)Strong experience usingSolidWorksGood understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principlesAbility to produce and interpret detailed technical drawingsStrong communication and teamwork skillsFull UK Driving LicenceBonus points if you have:Degree in EngineeringKnowledge of CDM RegulationsExperience with site work, RAMS, or health & safety trainingWhy Join:?
