Design Engineer
6 months initial contract
Location: Manchester, with 3 days onsite per week
Salary: Up to £500 per day
Our client seeks a Design Engineer to oversee design assurance, standards evolution, and strategic guidance across a portfolio of 300+ workplace and job centre projects. This is not a hands-on design role.
Essential criteria
- Professional qualification in Architecture or Interior Design (experience in commercial/retail sectors preferred)
- Experience delivering large-scale workplace or public sector projects (job centres particularly relevant)
- Knowledge of inclusive design principles and accessibility standards
- Ability to engage stakeholders effectively and present to senior audiences
- Experience developing and implementing design standards
- Thorough knowledge of UK Building Regulations and RIBA project stages
