Design Manager

Location: Hybrid Working (London / Flexible)

Salary: £60,000 – £80,000 DOE

Overview

Our client is a leading specialist façade contractor delivering high-value and technically complex building envelope projects. They are seeking an experienced Design Manager to lead the design function, ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in line with commercial and quality objectives.

This role offers hybrid working and the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the design team for multiple façade projects

*

Develop design strategies from tender stage through to construction and handover

*

Coordinate with project managers, site teams, architects, consultants, and clients

*

Ensure all designs comply with relevant regulations, technical standards, and contractual obligations

*

Review and approve technical drawings, calculations, and specifications

*

Manage design programmes, design reviews, and design risk assessments

*

Support value engineering and buildability assessments

*

Mentor and develop junior design staff

Requirements

*

Proven experience in a Design Manager role within construction, ideally within façades, cladding, or building envelope systems

*

Strong technical knowledge of design processes, drawings, and construction standards

*

Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software

*

Excellent communication and leadership skills

*

Strong organisational and planning ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

*

Knowledge of UK building regulations and standards
