Our client is a leading multidisciplinary construction and design consultancy, working extensively with local authorities, housing associations, and healthcare estates across the UK. They deliver large-scale, life-safety-critical projects, providing fully integrated solutions across consultancy, design, construction, and ongoing compliance.

We are partnering with our client to appoint an experienced Design Manager to lead the design across complex, multi-site programmes. This is a senior role with real influence over technical quality, compliance, and buildability, supporting projects from early design through to delivery. Key responsibilities:- Lead the design management function end-to-end, from concept through to delivery Own the detailed design programme, including coordination, approvals, and issues for construction Integrate all technical disciplines to deliver fully coordinated, construction-ready information Control design change while protecting information quality and accuracy Act as the primary design interface with construction teams, procurement, and regulators Plan, manage, and track design schedules and information release milestones Chair design coordination meetings and resolve clashes proactively Manage technical risk and oversee the design change control process Support procurement strategies, construction sequencing, and site design queries Ensure design outputs support commissioning, handover, and regulatory compliance Candidate requirements:- Highly organised, process-driven, and delivery-focused Strong multi-disciplinary coordination capability Confident working with site and commercial teams Calm under pressure with sound judgement and decisive decision-making Clear, confident, and authoritative communicator Desirable experience:- Design Manager or Senior Project Manager background Contractor-side Design & Build delivery experience Experience with RIBA stages 3-5 Managing complex design through the construction phase Experience on regulated, high-risk, or safety-critical projects Close working relationship with site teams and specialist subcontractors What our client is offering:- Competitive salary: £60k - £85k, depending on experience Bonus: up to 50% of your base salary based on revenue and division success Unlimited holidays based on performance Bupa private healthcare for you and your family Opportunity to work on
