DevOps Engineer – Contract (6 Months)
Location: London / Hybrid
Security Clearance: Active or recent SC required
We're partnering with a large organisation undergoing a significant Azure cloud transformation and are looking for a senior-level DevOps Engineer to support the delivery of a modern, secure, and highly automated cloud platform.
This contract role is ideal for a hands-on DevOps specialist with deep Azure expertise and a strong Infrastructure-as-Code background, who enjoys working alongside engineering and product teams to enable scalable cloud solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
The Devops Engineer will work as part of a cloud engineering team, contributing from early design through to deployment and ongoing platform support. The role centres on building and evolving Azure environments using modern DevOps tooling and practices, with a strong emphasis on automation and reliability.
Devops Engineer's Essential Skills & Experience:
Active or recently lapsed SC clearance
Extensive hands-on experience delivering solutions on Microsoft Azure
Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Git-based workflows (GitHub)
Advanced Infrastructure-as-Code experience, particularly with Terraform
Ability to collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to improve cloud capability
Experience in SRE or live production support is beneficial but not mandatory
Devops Engineer Key Responsibilities
Assist with the migration of applications and services into Azure
Support teams in applying the Azure Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF)
Design, build, and enhance automated deployment pipelines
Develop and maintain IaC solutions using tools such as Terraform, Artifactory, and Backstage
Act as a senior technical escalation point across delivery, security, and engineering teams
Provide cloud platform support, including incident resolution and troubleshooting
Coach and mentor junior engineers, encouraging DevOps best practices
Work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners to ensure successful delivery
