We are delighted to be working with a highly local authority to appoint a Director – Housing Services to lead and oversee all aspects of housing delivery and management across the community.

This is a high-profile, strategic role with real responsibility and variety. You’ll shape housing strategy, ensure excellent service delivery, and drive operational and performance improvements across the authority’s housing functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership for all housing services, including allocations, tenancy management, repairs, and estate management.
• Develop and implement innovative housing strategies that meet community needs and statutory obligations.
• Ensure operational delivery of housing services meets high standards of quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction.
• Advise elected members and senior officers on housing policy, regulatory requirements, and service priorities.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with statutory bodies and other housing stakeholders.
• Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing housing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
• Oversee budgets, resources, and performance management to achieve organisational objectives.

Skills and Experience:

• Senior leadership experience in housing services, within local government.
• Strong knowledge of housing legislation, tenancy management, and housing operations.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver strategic plans and drive operational improvements.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, and large, complex housing teams.
• Excellent leadership, staff development, and team-building skills.
• Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, and partnership building abilities.
