The role sits within the WEM Philips Performance Media team and involves working closely with our 17 markets across the region to enable the next phase of business and digital transformation for Philips. You will work with and report into the Executive Director, and work in collaboration with the wider performance team to ensure the client business objectives are met.

The WEM Performance Director is responsible for leading our digital advertising across Paid Search, Paid Social, Programmatic and Affiliates across the region for Personal Health for Philips. You will be responsible for delivering best-in-class holistic Performance Media strategies and execution, planning and delivering strategies across branding, performance media and ecommerce, and delivering on Philip’s business priorities. You will define the ways of working for WEM Performance Media, partnering with both the client to deliver their objectives, as well as the wider performance team to drive a holistic approach to performance media. You will also line manage the Senior channel managers, therefore you will be responsible for their learning and development, and leading the overall holistic performance media strategy, activation and delivery. You will take the lead on instilling best practices, training and innovation across the EMEA hub.

The ideal candidate will be a proactive, a problem-solver, with a proven background in performance media to deliver best service for Philips.

Specific areas of responsibilities involve:

  • Senior & high-level stakeholder management across regional Philips team
  • Collaboration with local market teams
  • Define and deliver the key priorities and workstreams for performance media for Philips
  • Define and deliver the test & learn plan for Philips
  • Identify and deliver growth opportunities
  • Translate the high level and future-facing planning into deliverable channel briefs and strategies
  • Ensure high quality and excellent day to day delivery for performance media
  • High quality, robust and actionable data and performance analysis & reporting
  • Additionally, you will be a part of the OMD EMEA Performance Community, where we want you to share your expertise and knowledge

Skills and experience requirements:

  • 7+ years of demonstrable experience managing performance media
  • Whilst we do not expect you to have been hands on in all channels, we do require hands-on activation background in at least one channel, and a strategic understanding of the other channels, as well as a thirst to learn more!
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of and experience in the media agency ecosystem
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Exemplary time management skills, able to prioritize and work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proven activation and planning expertise across at least one channel
  • Excellent team management and training experience
  • Experience working with a range of industry partners covering a breadth of inventory, audience and data solutions
  • Excellent excel skills
  • Excellent presentation skills, and feel comfortable building and delivering powerpoint presentations to clients
  • International experience, having a good degree of familiarity with local market nuances and vendors.
  • Comfortable managing relationships with clients and colleagues, and experience managing a team of specialists, working with them to ensure efficiency of output and quality of work.
  • Understanding of analytics platforms such as Google Analytics or Adobe Omniture
  • Excellent understanding of KPI selection within performance media
  • Experience activating performance media and therefore an understanding of best practice across planning, platform choice, campaign type, campaign structure, optimisation, QA, reporting, insight generation and finance
  • Leadership in defining performance media buying strategies given the brief, budget and data available – challenging the client/client team where required and managing the team to deliver strategic excellence, effective testing and operationally viable output
  • Ensuring team engagement and delivery of highest quality work.
  • Strong relationships with key partners and up to date on their latest products.
  • Collaboration with other digital teams and understanding of how different channels fit into the overall marketing mix.
  • Ability to put forward recommendations and forecasts beyond CPA/CPL and showcase how activity contributes to client KPIs.
  • Distill new work briefs into efficient solutions.
  • Ensure work delivered by the team meets client objectives.
  • Lead the client relationship day-to-day and be responsible for campaign strategy and optimisations.
  • Work with the team to ensure campaigns meet targets and make necessary optimisations.
  • Juggle multiple priorities and delegate work to team members.
  • Creative problem‑solving and ‘outside‑the‑box’ thinking.
  • Explain complex concepts to clients and colleagues in an easy‑to‑understand way.
  • Build relationships with agency partners and unlock new opportunities to grow clients’ business.
  • Proactively learn about new performance media developments and recommend new techniques and tactics.
  • Personal evangelist for performance buying with a strong POV.
  • Passionate about performance media opportunities and challenge the client to think outside the box and test new ideas.
  • Lead clients’ briefs with Senior channel managers, ensuring the right data, insights and partners deliver an innovative strategy.
  • Suggest efficient routes to answer any challenge.
  • Protect the team against unreasonable demands on their time.
  • Manage workload and ensure everyone has everything needed to deliver best work.
