Part-Time / Flexible hours - Document Controller – Major Hotel Refurbishment Project
Location: South Croydon Contract Type: Part-Time (12‑month project)
Rate: £20 / £23 per hour Employer: Tier 1 Main Contractor
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Document Controller to join our project team on a significant year‑long hotel refurbishment. This is an on‑site role supporting a busy main contractor, ensuring smooth document flow, compliance, and coordination across the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will be confident working within a construction environment and familiar with industry‑standard document control systems. Experience with Biosite or similar construction management platforms is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage, maintain, and update all project documentation in line with company and client procedures
* Control the flow of drawings, specifications, RFIs, technical submissions, and site records
* Ensure accurate version control and timely distribution of documents to internal teams and subcontractors
* Support site management with document queries and compliance requirements
* Liaise with project managers, design teams, and commercial staff to ensure documentation accuracy
* Maintain document registers and audit trails
* Assist with onboarding processes using Biosite or other access‑control/document systems (if applicable)
Requirements
* Proven experience as a Document Controller within the construction sector
* Strong understanding of document control processes on live construction projects
* Experience with construction management systems (e.g., Viewpoint, Asite, 4Projects, Aconex)
* Biosite experience is an advantage
* Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
* Confident working on site and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
* Strong communication skills and a proactive approach
