Early Career Teacher - Rochdale
We are working with a range of primary, secondary and SEN schools across Rochdale who are looking to engage Early Career Teachers for the new academic year. These opportunities are ideal for ECTs seeking their first post, those looking for flexible working patterns, or teachers who want to gain experience across different school settings before committing to a long‑term role. Positions are available on a full‑time or part‑time basis, along with day‑to‑day supply work for ECTs who would like to build confidence and broaden their experience.
ECTs will have the chance to work in a variety of classrooms, supporting pupils' learning while continuing to develop their own teaching practice. Long‑term placements can offer consistency and the chance to embed yourself within a school, while supply work provides exposure to different year groups, leadership styles and school environments. You will receive ongoing support throughout your placements, with guidance tailored to your stage in your teaching career.
Why Supply Work Can Benefit Early Career Teachers?
Many ECTs choose to work through a supply agency as it offers flexibility and valuable experience at the start of their career. Benefits include:
- Exposure to a range of schools and teaching environments - Opportunities to develop behaviour management skills - Time to find the right school fit before committing permanently - Flexible work that suits your availability - Ongoing professional support and advice
Supply work can also lead to longer‑term roles or permanent positions for ECTs who impress schools during placements.
We encourage applications from: - Newly qualified or qualifying teachers - ECTs available from September - Teachers seeking flexible or part‑time work - Trainee teachers looking to gain further classroom experience
Successful candidates will be: - Enthusiastic and committed to teaching - Keen to learn and develop professionally - Confident delivering lessons and managing classrooms - Adaptable and open to different school settings
Requirements - Qualified Teacher Status or QTS pending - Availability from September - Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply - A professional, reliable and positive approach
If you are an Early Career Teacher looking for teaching opportunities in Rochdale this September, we would love to hear from you. Apply today to discuss full‑time roles, part‑time positions or supply work that suits your needs.
