On behalf of our client, a leading marine navigation manufacturer, we are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician / Wireperson to join their growing UK team on a temp-to-perm basis. The Opportunity We are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Electrical Assembly Technician / Wireperson to support the build and assembly of sophisticated electrical systems, including control panels and equipment racks. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision workmanship and enjoys contributing to high-quality manufacturing standards within a technically advanced environment. Key Responsibilities • Assemble wiring systems, racks, and enclosures from detailed electrical drawings and schematics • Perform soldering, crimping, and cable routing to exact specifications • Interpret cable plans, layout drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) • Conduct electrical testing and fault-finding on completed assemblies • Create and maintain build documentation, quality checks, and tooling guides • Support the development and improvement of manufacturing standards • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to optimise build quality and efficiency Candidate Profile Essential • Level 3 qualification (BTEC, NVQ, or City & Guilds) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline • Proven practical experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, or cable assembly • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and wiring diagrams • Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Desirable • HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or related field • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification • Experience writing work instructions or manufacturing documentation • Familiarity with Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement principles What’s on Offer • Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package • Company pension scheme • 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays • Option to work a nine-day fortnight (based on a 37.5-hour average week) • Salary sacrifice schemes including Electric Vehicle, Cycle to Work, and Tech Vouchers • Holiday trading (up to 5 days) • Private medical insurance • Life insurance • On-site parking • Referral programme • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge maritime technologies Additional Information • Right to work in the UK without sponsorship is essential • Successful candidates will be subject to SC clearance • Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted If you are an experienced Electrical Assembly Technician looking to join a world-class engineering organisation working at the forefront of maritime technology, we would be pleased to receive your CV and cover letter
