Overview

Expleo is a leading Global Engineering Services Provider with UK presence in 10 locations. We are seeking an experienced Electrical Designer to work with our client, remote but occasion attendance at Barnstaple delivering cable designs using E3 Zuken. The successful candidate should have experience designing cables for hostile environments such as marine defence or rail.

We are looking for an energetic and driven engineer with broad expertise, however of particular interest would be candidates with (in order of priority marine, military or rail experience.

This role represents a great opportunity to work almost entirely remote, contributing to the security of the UK and our allies. Responsibilities

The Electrical Design Engineer will perform, but it not limited to the following type of activities centred on provision of cable designs for hostile environments:

• Design of cables using E3 Zuken
• Selection of components and materials as needed to meet the specifications
• Creation of parts for the parts library as needed
• Output of drawings/BoMs

Qualifications

Appropriate qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related discipline. For example ONC/HNC or higher

Essential skills

• E3 Zuken
• Configuration management such as Palma/Team Centre or Windchill
• Ability to effectively communicate engineering issues and concepts both verbally and written, with the ability to present and explain technical problems, tailored appropriately for the stakeholder
• Reporting of progress to senior management teams tailoring the message delivery to the audience
• Able to take ownership and to work on own initiative and seek out answers, in order to gain a good understanding of system functionality

Experience

• 5-years experience using E3 Zuken
• Experience of connector types for military applications and or hostile environments
• Experience of cable types for hostile environments
• Experience of methods and or techniques to ruggedise cables
• Marine, Defence Rail or similar experience
• Able to work across the full Engineering Development Lifecycle

What do I need before I apply

• Able to obtain SC
• Willingness to travel occasionally to the client site in Barnstaple
