Electrical Engineer (Automation / Control) £42,000 - £46,000 + Training + Progression + Overtime + 25 Days Holiday Sunderland Are you an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer looking to take responsibility for electrical systems within a fast-paced automotive production environment? Do you want to join a well-established engineering business where you will support and maintain existing PLC-controlled manufacturing systems, ensuring production runs safely, efficiently and with minimal downtime? On offer is the opportunity to join a forward-thinking industrial engineering business operating within a live automotive environment. With established systems already in place, the company is looking for a capable, hands-on electrical professional who can confidently fault find, support automation systems and maintain high standards on site. This role would suit someone with a strong industrial electrical background who enjoys being site-based, problem solving in real time, and supporting production operations day to day.

The Role

Support and maintain existing PLC-controlled production systems

Work with Siemens (TIA Portal & Step 7), Omron and Mitsubishi PLC platforms

Carry out electrical installations, testing and inspection

Fault find on control panels, 3-phase systems and 24V relay logic circuits

Work with transformer-fed panels, inter-panel feeds and SEW inverters

Read and interpret electrical drawings

Ensure works meet health & safety and quality standards

Assist with system improvements and production reliability

The Person

Experience as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer with PLC's

NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation (or equivalent)

18th Edition (BS 7671)
