Electrical Maintenance Supervisor

Location:Castleford Area
Salary:Circa £48,000
Shift Pattern:Monday to Friday (Days) - Including 1 in 4 weeks on call

The Role:

We are currently recruiting an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor to join a leading FMCG Manufacturing company following significant recent investment into site, equipment, and production capability. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Supervisor who enjoys being hands-on while also leading and developing a high-performing engineering team.

The Electrical Maintenance Supervisor role is a true 60/40 split approximately 60% hands-on electrical maintenance and fault-finding, with 40% focused on delegation, planning, and day-to-day team management. You will play a key role in ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and with minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

As an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing hands-on electrical maintenance support across production and packaging lines
  • Diagnosing and rectifying electrical faults on PLC-controlled and automated machinery
  • Leading, delegating, and supporting a team of electrical and multi-skilled engineers
  • Managing daily workloads, job allocation, and maintenance priorities
  • Supporting planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and continuous improvement activity
  • Acting as a technical escalation point during breakdowns
  • Ensuring compliance with health & safety, electrical standards, and site procedures
  • Working closely with engineering management to support ongoing investment and improvement projects

About You:

To be successful in this Electrical Maintenance Supervisor position, you will ideally have:

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Maintenance Supervisor or Senior Electrical Engineer in FMCG or manufacturing
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills within a fast-paced production environment
  • Experience supervising or mentoring engineers on shift or day-based teams
  • Relevant electrical qualifications (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)
  • A proactive, hands-on leadership style with excellent communication skills
