About The Role Job Purpose: To lead our team of Electrical Qualifying Supervisors, driving high standards of quality, compliance, and technical excellence across CCS. This role is pivotal in strengthening CCSs operational performance by ensuring all electrical installations meet regulatory, NICEIC, MCS, and 18th Edition requirements, while embedding a culture of quality, continuous improvement, accountability, and consistent working practices across the business. You will work closely with operational teams, providing challenge, coaching, and technical guidance to support the development of engineers, improve job-right-first-time performance, and uphold CCSs Quality Management System. Key Responsibilities: Leadership:
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Electrical Qualifying Supervisors, ensuring high performance, technical excellence, and consistent working practices. Hold QSs and operational teams accountable for quality, compliance, and completion timelines. Drive a culture of openness, constructive challenge, and continuous improvement. Quality & Technical Assurance:
Oversee the quality assurance framework for all electrical works across CCS, ensuring jobs meet CCS standards, NICEIC expectations, 18th Edition wiring regulations, and relevant MCS requirements. Conduct complex and intrusive technical audits, identifying trends, risks, and improvement actions. Review and verify certification, ensuring sign-off is completed accurately and within required timescales. Act as the businesss subject matter expert for all electrical compliance, advising senior leadership on emerging risks, regulatory updates, industry trends and best practice. Proactively scan for upcoming changes in legislation, standards (e.g. BS 7671 updates, Part P, MCS, NICEIC requirements), ensuring CCS is prepared and operationally ready. Identify future risks across regions, workstreams and workforce skill levels; develop clear mitigation plans and ensure these are communicated and actioned by operational teams. Support Business Governance in the development and review of policies, procedures, and installation standards to maintain alignment with evolving regulations. Operational Support:
Work collaboratively with operational managers to analyse defects, reduce repeat issues, and embed corrective/preventive actions. Provide coaching and on-site technical support to engineers, helping uplift capability and performance. Review daily/weekly defect and audit reports, highlighting risk areas and identifying improvement opportunities and supporting the wider business to resolve root causes. Drive consistency in electrical installation standards across all regions and teams. Stakeholder Engagement:
Work closely with Business Governance, Project Managers & Operations Managers to ensure aligned processes and seamless delivery. Support the Training & Development Coordinator with technical content for skills mapping, internal training, and competency assessments. Support the delivery of staff briefings, toolbox talks, and QHSE communications. Ensure the team provides ongoing mentoring and coaching to engineers, encouraging best practice and enabling them to grow in confidence and capability. Lead the onboarding and technical induction of new electricians and QSs, ensuring they understand CCS standards, processes, expectations, and safety requirements from day one. Be a visible, confident leader who is able to step forward, challenge constructively, and be heard at operational, technical, and senior management levels. Communicate risks, non-compliance, and improvement opportunities clearly and decisively, ensuring appropriate escalation and follow-through. Build strong relationships with internal teams, external auditors, clients, and regulatory bodies, representing CCS with professionalism and authority. Compliance:
Ensure accurate submission of all paperwork, including test certificates and variations. Stay up to date with industry regulations, NICEIC guidance, approved documents, and best practice. Drive full compliance across all CCS electrical activities, ensuring consistent application of standards, documentation, and certification processes. Spot patterns and recurring issues from audits, sign-offs, and defect reports; implement proactive corrective actions rather than repeat reactive fixes. Develop practical, workable solutions that support operational delivery while maintaining compliance, safety, and quality. Work with the QHSE team to integrate electrical compliance into wider governance and audit frameworks. Skills/Qualifications:
C&G 2330 Level 3 or equivalent apprenticeship completion AM2 Qualification NVQ Level 3 C&G 2391 (Initial Verification & Periodic Inspection) or equivalent 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Strong understanding of NICEIC and MCS compliance frameworks Experience managing or supporting Qualifying Supervisors or senior engineers (desirable for the Manager version) BPEC Solar PV or equivalent (advantageous) Minimum 5 years electrical experience, including testing, verification, and installation Experience in the Social Housing sector Confident in using PDA/mobile job management systems Clean UK driving licence and DBS check Personal Attributes:
