Electrical Supervisor - Water Industry (Site-Based)
Location: East Midlands (site-based with travel to various project locations)
We’re working with a well-established contractor delivering projects across the UK water and wastewater sector, who are looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Supervisor to support ongoing installation and refurbishment works.
This role will suit someone with a strong background in supervising electrical works on water treatment or utilities projects, with a solid understanding of site delivery, safety, and quality standards.
The Role:
* Supervise electrical installation works across water and wastewater sites
* Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and daily activities
* Plan and manage works in line with project programmes and deadlines
* Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems
* Ensure compliance with BS 7671, WIMES standards, and client specifications
* Carry out inspections, testing, and certification of installations
* Lead toolbox talks, site audits, and ensure H&S compliance at all times
* Provide technical support and fault-finding expertise on site
* Liaise with project teams and client representatives to ensure smooth delivery
* Maintain accurate site records, reports, and handover documentation
Requirements:
* Proven experience as an Electrical Supervisor within the water or utilities sector
* Strong knowledge of LV/HV systems, MCCs, motors, pumps, VSDs, and control panels
* Experience working with PLC/SCADA systems and instrumentation
* Good understanding of site-based H&S, permits, and safe systems of work
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
Qualifications:
* ECS / JIB Gold Card (Supervisor)
* SSSTS (minimum)
* NVQ Level 3 or recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
* 18th Edition (BS 7671)
* 2391 / 2394 & 2395 Inspection & Testing
* Full UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* SMSTS
* Confined Space / EUSR Water Hygiene
* ATEX / Hazardous Area experience
* Experience with PLCs, SCADA, and automation systems
