We're seeking skilled Electrical Technicians to join a busy estates maintenance team supporting a large and varied portfolio of commercial, industrial and domestic buildings. This permanent role offers stability, technical variety and the chance to work within a highly experienced maintenance operation.
Purpose of the Role
To deliver an efficient, business‑critical maintenance service by carrying out planned, reactive and statutory electrical works; diagnosing and resolving faults; and supporting minor installation projects. You'll ensure all electrical systems remain safe, compliant and operational, contributing to the smooth running of essential facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Respond to reactive maintenance requests and emergency call‑outs
Carry out planned maintenance and statutory testing (EICR, emergency lighting, fire alarms, PAT)
Diagnose faults, assess job requirements and determine solutions
Support minor installation and refurbishment works
Follow risk assessments and contribute to Health & Safety processes
Prioritise workload, complete accurate records and order materials
Communicate effectively with colleagues, contractors and building users
Maintain clean, safe work areas and drive fleet vehicles as required
Essential Skills & Experience
Recognised electrical apprenticeship or strong experience across commercial/industrial/domestic environments
NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installations/Maintenance (or equivalent)
18th Edition (C&G 2382) and Inspection & Testing qualification (C&G 2395 or equivalent)
IOSH Managing Safely (or equivalent)
Strong understanding of BS7671, statutory compliance and the Electricity at Work Act
Confident managing reactive workloads and solving technical problems independently
Good communication and customer service skills
Basic IT skills for record‑keeping and PPM systems
Full, clean UK/EU driving licence
Desirable
Knowledge of fire alarm systems (BS 5839)
LV/HV Authorised Person experience
Confined space entry training
Experience with lifting platforms, tower scaffolding and asbestos awareness
Understanding of mechanical building systems
