Embedded Software Engineer Job Description:
We are a world leader in missile and missile systems, seeking a highly capable and adaptable Embedded Software Engineer to join our Development Facility in Bristol. As part of our growing dynamic Software team, you will develop the latest mission-critical defence systems. You will work as part of a medium-sized team and be empowered to work individually with little supervision. The role will involve software development and the integration testing of the target hardware containing the software under test and suitable skills in this area will be expected.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this role are:
Development on Linux of Embedded Real-Time software using C++ in a multi-threaded Application to software requirements & ICDs. Write functional tests and conduct integration testing with the target hardware. Adhering to the agreed Project Planning and Quality processes. Use JIRA for project management and issue tracking The role will involve working within a lab environment running software on target hardware.
Skillset/experience required:
Significant experience of developing and debugging Real time Software Products using C/C++. Considerable experience of Rhapsody UML or other model-driven development tool. Extensive experience in developing functional and integration tests as well as simulation and hardware testing. Proven experience of developing and testing software to requirements and ICDs. Competent with MS Office tools/DOORS, for reviewing and updating technical documentation. Working understanding of configuration management tools such as RTC/EWM. Knowledge of Python / Ada / FreeRTOS would be highly beneficial..
