What you'll be doing:
Develop and execute the site's long-term engineering strategy, CAPEX planning, and major projects while managing the Electronic Maintenance system (HxGN EAM) and enforcing robust Management of Change processes
Lead and develop a multidisciplinary engineering team across Mechanical, Electrical, and Instrumentation disciplines, coordinate external specialist contractors, and control maintenance budgets while maintaining the highest safety standards
Drive safety performance and continuous improvement through Root Cause Analysis for equipment failures, incident reporting via AVA, HAZOP/LOPA/FMEA studies, and identifying training needs to enhance team capabilities and site reliability
Issue and manage work permits for personnel and contractors including confined space access, working at height, excavations and isolations, ensuring safe work practices across this 7-day operating high-hazard facility
Oversee the Asset Integrity Management program to prevent major accidents through proper design and maintenance of all equipment, infrastructure, and Safety Critical Equipment (SCE), including PSSR testing and inspection protocols
Act as technical lead for COMAH 2015 Safety Report submission and manage all interactions with HSE and regulatory bodies during inspections and audits, ensuring full adherence to safety legislation including DSEAR, PUWER and LOLER
What we're looking for:
Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Engineer with extensive engineering leadership experience in high-hazard industries (oil and gas, chemicals, energy, or similar)
Proven expertise in Process Safety Management (PSM) and hazard identification techniques including HAZOP, LOPA, and FMEA, with demonstrated ability to read and interpret both electrical and mechanical drawings
Extensive experience in COMAH compliance, regulatory engagement with HSE, and managing Safety Critical Equipment with strong knowledge of safety legislation (DSEAR, PUWER, LOLER, PSSR)
Strong leadership and communication skills with experience issuing work permits, writing RAMS and procedures, and managing multidisciplinary teams and external contractors in a 7-day operating environment
