Engineering Team Leader / Experienced Fitter . This is a
hands-on leadership role , reporting into the Engineering Shift Manager. Youll lead mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled engineers on shift, ensuring plant reliability, safety and performance within a high-output production environment. The Role
Lead and support mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled engineers on shift
Act as deputy to the Engineering Shift Manager when required
Prioritise and allocate engineering tasks to maintain production output
Drive planned and preventative maintenance using CMMS / SAP PPM
Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults and breakdowns
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and permit-to-work systems
Support training, mentoring and development of engineers and semi-skilled staff
Coordinate contractors and visiting engineers for upgrades and improvement works
Maintain accurate engineering documentation and records
Promote 5S standards and environmental compliance across the site
About You
Time-served Engineer / Fitter with
minimum 4 years industrial experience
Strong
mechanical or electrical
background
Previous
Team Leader, Supervisor
or step-up leadership experience
Confident fault-finder with sound decision-making skills
IT literate with experience of
CMMS
(SAP advantageous)
Proactive, organised and safety-focused
Desirable
Experience within
food manufacturing / food processing
Knowledge of
hydraulics and pneumatics
Strong communication and people leadership capability
