Role: English Supply Teacher Location: Lincoln, Lincolnshire Start Date: ASAP/April 2026 Contract: Flexible temporary roles (day-to-day, short-term and long-term) Salary: £32,916-£45,351 per annum (depending on experience and/or qualifications)
About the role
Great English teaching opens minds, sparks creativity, and helps students find their voice. If you’re a skilled teacher who loves seeing that moment of understanding or excitement, we want to hear from you.
At Heart of Supply you choose the days you work and the schools that suit your style. Focus on delivering engaging, purposeful lessons while we provide straightforward, supportive backing.
We’re looking for English teachers who can step into classrooms and set the tone from the first moment. You’ll explain ideas clearly, foster discussion, manage behaviour effectively, and create structured, focused learning environments.
Confident teaching across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5), adapting lessons for different abilities, and bringing your subject knowledge and professionalism will make a real impact.
About the school/us
At Heart of Supply we work in partnership with a wide network of welcoming, well-supported schools across Lincoln and the surrounding areas, including primary and secondary schools, academies, local authority provisions, and specialist SEND settings. Whether you’re passionate about early years, KS2, secondary education up to Year 13, or supporting pupils with additional needs, we’ll match you with schools that align with your skills and values. As a Heart of Supply educator, you’ll be part of a growing team that’s making a real difference in the classroom, gaining valuable experience across diverse environments.
What you will need:
* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) with recent UK secondary English classroom experience
* Strong English subject knowledge and the ability to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 is desirable)
* Confident, consistent behaviour management in secondary settings
* Ability to build quick rapport with students and colleagues in a new classroom
* A proactive, adaptable approach with a genuine passion for teaching English
* At least 6 weeks’ UK teaching experience in secondary schools
We’re fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All applicants will undergo thorough vetting, including enhanced DBS (with children’s barred list check and Update Service registration), references, and online checks as part of our compliance process.
What we offer you:
* Competitive weekly PAYE pay
* Roles tailored to your lifestyle - day-to-day or longer term
* Access to exclusive opportunities in great local schools
* A friendly, experienced consultant who listens
* Free CPD and ongoing professional development
* A simple ‘Refer a Friend’ scheme
* A warm, supportive agency that genuinely cares about you and your journey
