English 2iC (Second in Charge) | Bromley | September Start


Are you an experienced English Teacher ready to take on additional responsibility from September?


A well-regarded secondary school in Bromley is seeking an English 2iC (Second in Charge) to support the leadership of their English department from September. This role would suit a strong classroom practitioner with a track record of good outcomes who is looking to step into, or further develop, a middle leadership role.


You will be teaching English across KS3 and KS4, with the opportunity to teach KS5. Working closely with the Head of English, you will help drive standards, support colleagues and contribute to the ongoing development of the curriculum.


English 2iC – Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English across KS3–KS5

• Support the Head of English with the day-to-day running of the department

• Lead on a key area such as KS4 outcomes, curriculum or assessment

• Monitor pupil progress and support intervention strategies

• Contribute to departmental planning and staff development


Person Specification:

• QTS and a degree in English or a related subject

• Proven record of strong GCSE outcomes

• Experience teaching English at KS4 (KS5 desirable)

• Organised, reliable and ready to take on leadership responsibilities
