English Teacher – SEMH School Are you a QTS English Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to support students who face barriers to learning? Do you want to teach small groups where strong relationships and personalised learning can help young people re-engage with education? This SEMH school in South Birmingham is looking to appoint a dedicated English Teacher to teach students who have been excluded from mainstream education.
As an English Teacher at this school, you will teach small groups of students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will deliver engaging and accessible English lessons that help students rebuild confidence, develop literacy skills and re-engage with learning. The school provides a structured and supportive environment where staff work closely together to ensure students feel safe, valued and motivated to succeed. Strong subject knowledge and experience teaching English up to GCSE is essential for this role.
This role would suit a resilient and adaptable English Teacher who can build strong relationships, manage challenging behaviour and inspire students who may have had a negative experience of education. Previous experience working with SEMH needs or challenging behaviours is highly desirable.
