English Teacher – Brent, North West London Location: Brent, London, UK Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Start Date: September 2026 Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM (Term Time Only) Salary: £37,868 – £56,154 per year
Teach Now is recruiting a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join a well-established secondary school in Brent from September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a successful English department, inspiring students to develop strong literacy, analytical and communication skills while fostering a genuine love of literature.
The successful candidate will teach English Language and Literature across Key Stages 3–5, delivering engaging lessons that support students of all abilities to achieve their academic potential.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging English Language and Literature lessons across KS3–KS5
• Prepare students effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations
• Develop students’ reading, writing, analytical and critical thinking skills
• Differentiate lessons to support mixed-ability learners
• Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
• Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom engagement
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental planning
• Participate in enrichment activities such as reading clubs, creative writing groups or theatre trips

Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent (ECTs welcome to apply)
• Degree in English or a related subject
• Experience teaching English at KS3 and KS4
• Strong subject knowledge in English Language and Literature
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills
• Commitment to raising student attainment and engagement
• Experience teaching A-Level English or contributing to literacy initiatives or extracurricular activities would be advantageous.
