Job Description
A global asset management firm is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to support with coverage of the global energy sector spanning both conventional and sustainable energy companies. This is an exciting opportunity to join a high-performing team with a culture rooted in intellectual rigour, collaboration and long-term thinking.
Key Responsibilities:
Undertake detailed, bottom-up fundamental analysis of energy-related businesses globally Build and maintain financial models to underpin valuation and scenario analysis Generate high conviction investment ideas and present them confidently to Portfolio Managers Track macro drivers across the energy ecosystem including regulatory shifts, technological disruption and ESG/renewables trends Be an active contributor in weekly investment committee debates, presenting clear and well-structured recommendations Monitor and update research coverage for existing holdings Engage directly with company management, site visits, and industry conferences to gather primary insights Support ESG engagement initiatives
Candidate Profile:
2-5 years of experience in equity research on the buy-side or sell-side Relevant work experience and knowledge of the energy sector is a plus but not essential Genuine passion for energy markets and long-term fundamental investing Intellectual curiosity, humility and a drive to constantly learn Collaborative mindset Progress (or readiness to pursue) toward the CFA qualification Undergraduate degree (minimum 2:1 or equivalent) in finance, economics, engineering, or related field
