Hours: 35 hours per week (4.5 days, flexible between 7am-7pm)
Pay Rate: Negotiable depending on experience
About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Ergonomist Specialist to join a leading aerospace manufacturing team in Broughton. This role sits within the Manufacturing Engineering department and offers the chance to influence and drive change in an established wing production facility. The ergonomics team is small but highly influential, working closely with operations, design engineering, and health & safety to optimise human working conditions and improve overall system performance.
Key Responsibilities
As an Ergonomist you will be responsible for conducting ergonomics work analysis of assembly and installation activities and providing recommendations to address any associated risk factors.
The role involves developing and implementing ergonomic action plans aligned with industrial strategy and future evolutions, as well as contributing to specifications, tenders, and subcontractor management for ergonomics-related work packages.
You will ensure ergonomic considerations are integrated into tooling and machine design, monitor regulatory and scientific developments, and maintain the tactical implementation plan for ergonomics at the site.
Ergonomist will work closely with health and safety representatives and support for transnational ergonomic initiatives will also be part of your remit.
What We're Looking For
Educated to degree (or higher) level in Ergonomics/Human Factors (delivered by an accredited CIEHF higher education body).
Accredited to (or demonstrated working towards) Registered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) or equivalent.
You should have strong knowledge of physiology, cognitive sciences, applied psychology, and human factors, along with experience in identifying and mitigating ergonomic risks in industrial environments.
Previous experience in an industrial or manufacturing engineering environment is desirable.
Strong understanding of human factors/ ergonomics ideally within a Aerospace environment/ similar industry.
Experience in identifying ergonomics risk factors in the workplace (e.g. process, workflow, work organisation); proposing risk mitigation solutions to management
Experience of all aspects of ergonomics including assessment of working methods, applicable standards, risk ratings, assessment tools, technical report writing and development of technical solutions.
